Altitude 3300 Project

What developments are planned for the Alpe d’Huez ski area in the coming years?

Between 2025 and 2027, the Alpe d’Huez ski area is embarking on a major development program aimed at improving circulation and enhancing user comfort.

This modernization plan includes the renewal of several key ski lifts. The objective is to streamline connections between the different resorts within the ski area : Alpe d’Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Oz 3300, Vaujany, and Villard-Reculas, while simplifying access to Pic Blanc.

Through these investments, the ski area aims to offer a more inclusive and versatile experience, catering not only to skiers but also to pedestrians, mountain bikers, people with reduced mobility, visitors, and local residents.

Timeline of upcoming developments in the Alpe d’Huez ski area

Summer 2026:

  • Transformation of the Villarais chairlift into a 10-seater gondola to improve the connection between Villard-Reculas and the rest of the ski area
  • Modernization of the intermediate station (Station 3) of the Pic Blanc cable car to optimize existing infrastructure
Between 2026 and 2027:
  • Replacement of the Lièvre Blanc chairlift with a 10-seater gondola, improving both comfort and capacity
In 2027:
  • Installation of a new 10-seater gondola in the Sarenne sector to enhance accessibility
  • Complete renovation of the arrival station at Pic Blanc (3,300 meters altitude)

In summary:

All these developments are part of a strategy to reposition the area as a modern and accessible mountain destination. Ultimately, visitors will benefit from a more efficient lift network, making travel easier and opening up the mountain to a wider range of users, both in winter and summer.
